The Czech Architecture Foundation was established with the mission to present architecture as an integral part of contemporary culture. Through its grants, CAF supports exhibition, lecture and publication efforts in the field of Czech and international architecture. The CAF does not implement its own projects, does not support schools of architecture, nor does it subsidise professional practice of individual architects. The CAF is the operator of two galleries of architecture: The Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague and 4AM/Gallery of Architecture in Brno.
Oskar Poříska 1897 - 1982, publication
Petr Pelčák and Ivan Wahla prepared the next publication from the editor´s series of the Municipal House Brno Association aimed at Brno avant-garde architecture. Oskar Poříska, the representative of "Brno white functionalism" designed many of important Brno municipal buildings. He was awarted by the gold medal on the World´s exhibition in Milan (1933), Brussels (1935) and Paris (1937). The publication together with the exhibition, which took place in the 4AM/GA Gallery in December 2011 in Brno, works out systematically on the work of this founder of the Brno functionalism.

Jaroslav Fragner Gallery cordially invites you to the opening of the exhibition Contemporary Czech Industrial on Wednesday December 7th, 2011 at 7 pm.
On the night of the exhibition opening guests will have the pleasure to enjoy a live performance by the legendary Czech industrial rock group Paprsky inženýra Garina.
The exhibition will be open until January 22nd, 2012.
Movies Evening with the Architecture V.
5th year festival is organized at the Břetislav Bakala Cinema in Brno on December 9th, 2011. According to the fact that the festival is aimed at architects and the broad public as well, these movies are selected:
- David Chipperfiel (USA, 2011, direction Michael Blackwood)
- First Earth: Uncompromising Ecological Architecture (USA, 2009, direction David Sheen)
- Reem Koolhaas: A Kind Of Architect (USA, 2008, direction Markus Heidingsfelder).

The vernissage of the exhibition prepared by the Municipal House Brno Association in the cooperation with the City Museum of Brno and 4AM/Forum for Architecture and Media becomes on Thursday December 8th 2011 at 18.00 in the 4AM/Gallery of Architecture in Brno.
The launch ceremony of the monograph of Oskar Poříska is included. In the end of the event is planed a walk around constructions and buildings of Oskar Poříska finished by a happening at his waiting room on Obilný trh.

In the following of then round table talks organised in the beginning of this year the Board of Directors of the Czech Architecture Foundation will be holding round table talks at the Jaroslav Fragner Gallery in Prague on 9 November 2011 from 5pm. The discussion theme will be changes of the foundation grants policy, rules and terms of a new grant competition for 2012.
